D & B ANDERSON, LLC
is a collaborative effort between the
husband-and-wife team of G. David
and Blanche Anderson. Building on career experience
of sixty years David and Blanche bring combined skills in
librarianship, history and archives, oral
history, events management, exhibits and administration.
David is a
graduate of Georgia College and State
University (B.S. and M.A. in History), Florida State
University (M.S. Library Science) and a Certificate
of Advanced Studies in Archival Management from Denver
University. He was librarian and archivist at
Columbus State University, University Archivist at Colgate University
and University Archivist (1987-2009)
and Historian (2007-2009) at The George Washington University. David
was editor of
the Mid-Atlantic
Archivist (1995-1999) and Managing Editor of the
on-line GW and Foggy
Bottom Historical Encyclopedia. He
retired from higher education in 2009.
Blanche has over thirty years of
experience in librarianship, events management and library
administration. She holds the B.A. from Mary Baldwin College having
studied at the Université de Paris and a
Master in Library Science from the University of North Carolina. She
has thirty-two years of professional public library experience in
reference, management and library administration. In her career she has
worked for Henrico County Libraries,
Fairfax County Library System, VA and for eighteen years was the Public
Services Division Chief at Arlington County, VA
libraries. She has studied and lived in France and is fluent in French.
Retired from library administration in 2006, Blanche
is a passionate reader and volunteers her time in her church,
Leadership Arlington and Zonta International. She was elected Women of
the Year, Arlington County (2007), award for community leadership and
service, by the Inter-service Club Council.
